For the crowdsourcing project, I decided to expand upon the Twitter bot prototypes that we had made during the Toddwords presentation. I thought it would be fun to fill the dictionary with a bunch of words taken from my Instagram followers, Mad Libs style. I crowdsources the verbs in an opaque, horizontal, independent way. I basically sent a bunch of prompts out to my story using Instagram's question feature, and collected a bunch of responses from my friends and acquaintances. Here's an example of the type of stuff I asked:
After enough people had responded, I put up the Twitter profile under @30to50feralhogs, which I can't believe was available. I threw up a couple of examples just to test the bot, but I will likely keep it running because this was fun! To make really funny stuff, though, I feel as if it will take a little bit more curation.
Here's a clip of the bot's timeline, in case Twitter deletes it for being a bot.
